Toasting Coconut enhances the flavor of the Coconut Macaron

Take a trip to the tropics with our toasted coconut macaron. Creamy, comforting and undeniably delicious!

Toasted Coconut

Our new recipe includes a toasting step. Toasting caramelizes the sugars in the coconut, resulting in a deeper, more complex flavor with caramel and nutty notes.

Here are some excellent wine options to pair with a Toasted Coconut Macaron

Pairing coconut macarons with wine can create a delightful harmony of flavors. Since coconut has a rich, sweet, and slightly nutty profile, it pairs well with wines that enhance its creaminess without overwhelming it:

  1. A sweet or semi-sweet sparkling wine, such as Moscato d’Asti or a demi-sec Champagne, can complement the coconut’s richness and add a refreshing contrast.
  2. Additionally, a late harvest Riesling or a Gewürztraminer with its aromatic and slightly sweet profile can elevate the coconut flavors beautifully.
  3. For a more indulgent pairing, a dessert wine like Sauternes or a noble rot wine can accentuate the sweetness and bring out the coconut’s tropical notes.

Macaroon Recipe

Macaroons [mæk.əˈruːn] are often mistaken with Macarons [mɑːkəˈrɒn], so this Coconut macaron is the opportunity to discuss this dessert made of Coconut, which has nothing to do with the macarons, even if flavored with coconut!
