New Macaron Flavor: Yuzu, A Refreshing New Flavor For Our Macarons

Introducing Yuzu, a vibrant and refreshing new macaron flavor! Known for its zesty citrus notes, Yuzu adds a unique twist, blending tartness with floral undertones for a truly unforgettable taste experience. This exquisite fruit not only enhances the macaron’s delicate texture but also brings a touch of the exotic.

What is the Yuzu?

Yuzu is a citrus fruit originating from East Asia, primarily cultivated in Japan, Korea, and China. It resembles a small grapefruit with a thick, uneven skin and is known for its distinct, tart flavor profile, combining elements of lemon, mandarin, and grapefruit.

Wine Pairing
The best wine pairing with a yuzu macaron would be a sweet or dessert wine that complements the tartness of the yuzu. Here are a few suggestions:

  1. Moscato: A sweet, fruity wine that pairs well with citrus flavors.
  2. Riesling: A late-harvest Riesling has a nice balance of sweetness and acidity, which works well with the tangy flavor of yuzu.
  3. Sauternes: This rich, sweet wine can enhance the delicate flavors in a yuzu macaron.
  4. Prosecco: A lightly sparkling option that can add a refreshing contrast to the macaron’s sweetness.
